No more PowerBook. Love the new Mac Mini, I would put in an SSD, but they're still too expensive, and I really don't need one. Its extremely quiet anyway.
Stock Mac Mini 2.4ghz + 4gb of RAM (Crucial off Newegg)
20" Cinema Display (I'm going to mount that powerbrick behind the desk, I hate looking at it)
Bose Companion 2 speakers
64gb iPad WiFi
160gb iPod Classic

Here is my setup
http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd515/nikumba/room.jpg
Dell 2001FP on the left hooked up to my Win7 machine under the desk
Samsun SyncMaster 2494HS on the right, now connected to my MBP that is over on the left of the desk, using a standard PC keyboard and mouse with the MBP at the moment.
The little black keyboard is a USB with trackball hooked up to the Win7 machine.
So far this is an experiment to use my MBP as my primary machine rather than just a laptop, so far so good, have sorted most things out I think.
I will eventually get rid of the Dell and but the MBP on the stand and have the Win7 machine hooked up to the VGA input on the Samsung monitor
Also ignore the dust :)
Kimbie
If you're getting the rid of the Dell monitor, as long as it's still in working condition, let me know… I'm interested :D

Filmantopia, just because you can go to the auto store and buy $1000 worth of tools doesn't mean you can automatically repair a Mercedes Benz. You can buy wood, wiring and plumbing materials at Home Depot, but doesn't that mean you can build a functioning house that meets all building code standards.
Likewise, owning a piece of software doesn't make you a professional. The tools may become less expensive, but the knowledge and experience requirements remain the same.
I already said it above,I'll copy what I said:
He put "professional" in quotes because he was being sarcastic,he meant that if someone is worried about the fact that more people can now operate a software because it's simpler to use/more affordable then they must not be a real pro because a real pro wouldn't worry about such things, they know that they have the creativity and experience that sets them appart.

I wonder if that aluminium beveled logo has something to do with the design of the long awaited new MacBook Pros?...
...it's already featuring on the iPhone...

Uh, isn't the world in 3D? I mean, we do see in three dimensions, correct? Is this a clever way of saying you are blind?

They're going to broaden the span of the MB.
The top end spec will be increased probably with core 2 duo, more RAM and disk, bringing it closer to low end MBP but maintaining the price point. Probably keeping it black.
The bottom end will stay the same with core duo at a lower price.
Why this?
Well a reseller telles me 'what people want' is a 13 inch MBP and this would create something similar but far enough away to justify the price difference.
The MB has not really filled the niche of the 12 inch Powerbook yet.
And the delay for delivery for top end black MBs has gone up but not for the bottom end (I know this might just be a supply thing) in Australia.
I don't think so. The C2D and CD are at the same price now, with the possibility that the CD's price will go up in the future. Apple would switch over now and maintain the same board across black/white macbooks.

Doesn't matter where Apple sells its products. Better to make your products available everywhere than in just one or two specific stores. Remember: Not every city has an Apple store and can be quite a distance to the closest.
Best Buy is an ideal place to sell iPads, since its a consumer electronics store.... Apple is a consumer electronics company ( these days ).
BTW - Best Buy has been selling iPads for a long time, so only makes sense they sell iPad 2...

So we must continue our imperial ways simply because of economic reasons?
Well, I suppose we could redesign the economy so that it does not go at the world's resources like a cloud of locusts, nor beats most of the country into whimpering blobs of gelatin and fails to manufacture terrorists through rapacious adventurism (ahem: what did they fly planes into?). Probably not, though, because then our tech-toy upgrade cycles would be much less regular, we would have to fix more stuff instead of replacing it, and there would simply not be enough margin to maintain the crucial upper class.
So, yeah, practically speaking, we have to.
All hail to the mighty status quo
All things remain the same
Inertia guide our straying course
And lead us back to whence we came

Who knows if the story it true or not. Regardless Walmart bully's everyone, small stores who are in its path as well as suppliers. They're some suppliers who sell merchandise at Walmart at a loss just to get on their precious shelf space.

Lets hope they remaster them - the stereo effects on the original versions can be really painful on a pair of headphones.
While it can seem weird by todays standards... I think it's great to be able to critically listen to them as originally recorded to see what fantastic work and pioneers they were in the studio arena.

If it's not the iFly, it's the iFart.
The feature is that it sounds like a farty Startup Chime sound.

is this really a big deal?
Seriously, The Beatles were great, I would think by now most people have their songs.I'm often surprised to meet a new Beatles fan who "inherited" their interest from their parents. And the publicity surrounding an iTunes debut would add to that interest.
I wonder if they'll have a "complete catalog" package?

One of the Mac screen savers will do mosaics of photos from a folder... it's kind of cool to watch them zoom out into a mosaic, but can get hypnotic... ;)
Mine for today... from last summer's archives, since I've been somewhat dormant the last couple of weeks or so...

Nice dog shot. I really like the bokeh and the dog's expression.
Was able to score a virtually unused M8 a few weeks ago . Tried it out in Midtown and Central Park . Gotta get used to using a rangefinder again .

NEWSFLASH: The iPod Nano and Blackbook are exactly the same. This banner contains nothing new. You guys are seeing things.
You're right, after I look closely at this image. Dunno how it seemed so clearly brushed metal to me before.
