So if the market is down as a whole, and one manufacture is up, that one manufacturer is definitely doing something right.
Well, not really. Macs are generally more expensive than PCs. The people who likely buy Macs aren't doing as poorly as others, so they buy Macs. Those with little discretionary income who would normally buy PCs don't have money to buy a computer right now, so they're not buying a PC.

I would guess that iPhone5 will be duel mode GSM and CMDA... so I would assume the 4G should be able to adapt to either.

Gutted.. the Facebook app since the 3.0 update has really been looking good, and I'd love to see Hewitt evolve it even more.
Think Phil Schiller should send him an email just to thank him for developing so gracefully for the iPhone, explain the review process and reasoning behind it and then just wish him well in the future.
This is a PR blow, and Phil will have to do something or this could be damaging to the platform's future development.

I love how everybody is like "I've got the CDs who cares" or "Buy the CDs they are cheaper". The Beatles on iTunes isn't for you. It is for people who don't buy CDs, it's for the future when the majority of people get digital music and it's certainly for a whole generation of kids who won't know what a CD is or care, in the same way that vinyl is now seen as archaic.
I'm sure I am repeating someone else's thoughts, but it doesn't seem clear to a lot of people.
I guess you're right, but it means I'm much older than I thought ! I grew up with CDs and now, kids don't know what a CD is :D

Did nobody not notice that the Nano ad shows the clickwheel glowing along with the screen? Looking at photos of the new Nano kind of kicks down that prospect, but it's a little of a let down when you realize the click wheel does not glow like in the ad.

The notion that "pro editing" can belong to just about anyone, rather than an exclusive circle of elites, poses an existential crisis. Apple's re-thinking of editing is also a re-thinking of what it means to be "professional". The announcement sheds light on a future in which their "advanced", learned techniques are no longer advantageous. The "industry pros" are facing the plight of impending impotence. It's not something anyone would really openly admit, but I think they're feeling a bit naked, stripped of their status.

In fact we lost a large client because one of the employees thought that her high school son could do the same level of work that we did. If that were true I would say shame on us, in reality the client came back to us a few months later when the kid couldn't actually produce the same level of edit quality and creativity that we do.

I think if anything it does open up the door for a teenager to start learning on high end software, then by the time they've finished college and have a sense of who they are as an editor they'll be a welcome, proficient addition, to someones company. The ultra low power versions also go ultra slow. If you take a normal Merom or Yonah, and limit its speed to 1 GHz, the voltage can be reduced as well, and it won't be far away from the so-called "ultra low power" chips at all.

There are updates, just free. Also, it's nice to be able to have to fiddle with the OS only once every half a decade. Updates don't matter that much, since if you're a mac user and using windows for gaming(and not job work), the windows interface doesn't matter at all. You'd be getting Vista in anticipation of a future laptop with a DX10 graphics card.
