Well, that was fun. Hit "send" too soon. Where is the Justice Department? This is clearly the anti-competitive raving of a monopolistic entity.

agree - apple needs a thin and light 12" laptop or similar.
Yea, but it will never happen. Read through the thread for my reasons why.

I'm just going to throw this very quick (and shoddy) rendering I made into the mix, portraying a possible "tabletop" iMac.

No its not. There will be live text coverage on MR, and their will be a video of the keynote on apple's site within a couple hours after it ends.
Well that makes sense, as it costs lots of money for developers to attend... why should they show it for free live :) Thanks.

So does this mean that your battery is not part of the exchange program? Or is it part of the exchange program because you changed your serial number?
Friends, I am not too sure right now, but I think I have just discovered a smart person or a dishonest person?
After doing this i am now wondering myself if i am smart or dishonest, i personaly have no doubt that my batterys serial number is valid for recall....it's apples site that is in need of attention....
IMHO.

for newer phones i heard Sprint is making people give up the SERO plan
ahh yes, SERO, thanks knew it had a name haha...
anyways, after searching the sprint site here is what i've found
SERO rate plans are no longer available for new line activations, although existing customers are allowed to remain on these plans.
SERO Basic rate plans are not compatible with most Smartphones. If you upgrade to a Smartphone on one of the following operating systems: Windows Mobile 7, Blackberry, Android, Web OS and the Instinct family of devices you will need to upgrade your plan to a SERO Premium rate plan. In addition 4G Smartphone activations will require an additional $10/line/mo. Premium Data add-on charge in addition to requiring the SERO Premium plan.
So as far as I can tell, as long as you have it you can keep it, and you just need a SERO Premium plan (as opposed to Basic) if you want to have a smartphone and keep your SERO plan. It says you can upgrade though if you are on a SERO Basic to a SERO Premium.

I love the ipod disk gauge on the bottom of the ipod window!
if you click on it , it toggles through 3 separate information readouts (2 shown).

Is the gapless playback only a feature of the full size pod or does it carry over to the nano too?
I believe that the Nanos can play gapless. I looked on the tech specs page on Apple's site but i don't see it. I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure that the Nanos can play gapless.
As for my opinion on the nanos...
I dislike them. I wasn't fond of the Mini asthetics wise. Durable, for sure. But I just don't find them as nice to look at, and now that the Nanos are the same tacky colors, it's back to the ugliness. I know people were buying up the Minis, I'm just personally not a fan of the styling... If you all want to buy them up go ahead, just count me out :p

I don't see this mentioned here, but Apple have told MacWorld (http://www.macworld.com/news/2006/08/17/wirelesshack/index.php) - my bolding:
Despite SecureWorks being quoted saying the Mac is threatened by the exploit demonstrated at Black Hat, they have provided no evidence that in fact it is, Apple Director of Mac PR, Lynn Fox, told Macworld. To the contrary, the SecureWorks demonstration used a third party USB 802.11 devicenot the 802.11 hardware in the Maca device which uses a different chip and different software drivers than those on the Mac. Further, SecureWorks has not shared or demonstrated any code in relation to the Black Hat-demonstrated exploit that is relevant to the hardware and software that we ship.

I don't know about the UK, but I believe that they're available now in the US.
if they're not too pricey i might have to update, although they're gonna have to have more power than the II's, there's a piddly amount of wattage in the sub.

Doesn't "something in the air" usually refer to love? So it could mean anything, which is why its showing ;).
Of course as a technological thing, it probably refers to wireless, or possibly something "light".
It's a cross between Love and itunes university. Yes, it's.....
iLove U!

Why would anyone think there would be an iPhone 5 announcement there?Exactly!
To offer hardware at the same time as WWDC mixes the message to developers and (mostly) to the world at large -- unless, UNLESS it deals with something that developers need to know -- the iPhone 4 was announced during WWDC 2010 for one BIG REASON --> Retina Display.
This was a big deal. It meant that all iPhone apps' graphics would need to be adjusted in order to take advantage of the additional resolution in order to look great. Apple announced the iPhone 4 so that all the iPhone App developers there and elsewhere would know to get busy on updating their apps and pronto!
Apple wants the world to focus on the Software — right now, there is big debate raging over Apple software VS Google software and Apple wants to keep the focus on how they're better in the software arena.
The problem is Steve couldn't control himself last year and confused the newer people by talking about the iPhone.
If indeed they keep it on topic this year, there will be no talk or time wasted on hardware. We only have one WWDC each year, hopefully this year Jobs will control himself.U R Full of (a) Crap (b) Hot Air (c) It... Take your pick. Steve announced the iPhone because of the Retina Display and to finally put the GIZMODO thing to rest. Why do people like you try to be so Anti-Apple/Steve. This used to be OUR boards. And the goons took over.

Now I don't know what to do. I need an iPod that can hold all of my media (just my music alone is over 100 GB) so I can bring it with me wherever I go. (I hate having to choose a portion of my music instead of just grabbing it all.) But the MacRumors Buyer's Guide says not to buy - update soon. So is Apple going to kill it or release a new version? If I wait, I might miss out on getting one. But if I get one now, I might miss out on a better model. Ugh.
Wait.
If they release a new model, get it. If they don't release a new model, buy the current one at a small discount.
Win Win situation.

The new nano is disappointing on its look. I prefer if they don't make any change from the old model. simply a nano size mini......

I think Mac sales are directly tied to the Halo affect of the iOS devices. The more they sell there, the more people open up to Mac as an alternative. With Lion having more iOS like interfaces, it will make it even more natural for new customers.
Certainly to a degree. A Part of that Halo effect is "oh my iPhone is so easy to use, maybe I should give Macs a chance"...you also have to take into account their huge marketing appeal and iOS compatibility angle. Macs are "cool" and "just work" with everything Apple.

For those that have been asking... the browser and equalizer aren't gone, they're just both under the View menu now.
Whew, I was a little worried there for a second.
What's the point of removing the Button on the lower right for the EQ and Visualizer? It's not like there is not enought space. Some times i wonder what they are smoking over there.

What level of military interventions should the US take in the Republic of Congo?
What has been asked for and what we are providing is a no fly zone, which seems like the appropriate amount of military intervention.
If the people of Libya want Gaddafi out than it seems like air support keeping any heavy weapons he can buy subdued should probably be enough.

Did anyone love this quote?
Jobs was equally unconcerned about the prospect of the iPod losing its cool factor as it becomes increasingly ubiquitous.
"That's like saying you don't want to kiss your lover's lips because everyone has lips. It doesn't make any sense," said Jobs.

What time do you guys think the Keynote and new products will be on Apple.com (San Fran time)
I'm hearing it will be on Apple.com about 2 hours after the keynote.
