Thank god, I wasn't fond of the new style. I found it kinda confusing and out of place.
Best news ever. I hope they roll it back in other menu's as well.
yay!
Apparently I'm one of the few who liked the new slider buttons.

With the update notice officially stating When Lion ships this summer What are the chances the iMac refresh will happen at the same time? or will it be in the Fall instead?

Cool!
I wonder if this is part of the labels' strategy to take power away from iTunes.
Interesting point. I'm sure the Department of Justice would love to know about any contact between Labels and Amazon in the past few months.

It's going to be midnight on the East Coast by the time the President makes the official announcement. I could make a celebration pumpkin pie and it will get done before the official announcement.

As always, the iPod is Apple's real cash cow.
Too bad for those of us who wish they would divert a little more of their attention to their computer line.
Yeah. Gawd knows Apple hasn't done a thing with it's Mac line-up this year.

If there were so many problems with the white iPhone 4, how come Stephen Fry has had one (and used it) from the beginning?
Lol Stephen Fry... He's a techno geek, I've seen him queue up on iPad's day of launch, he's also the most educated and formal man I've ever come across.

I wish they'd spend that time being productive writing new and cool things instead of worrying about what may possibly happen.
Security should be something that's handled at the low level, not something we have to sit here BSing about all day long and installing programs for. That's the part that bugs me about these stupid &W%@#%*( companies and MS' "anti crapware" program. THE PROBLEMS SHOULD NOT EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE. Boy, that's what patches are for.
Looking for em is fine, but when people stop making stuff and worry more about designing security crap - **** we'll all be driving aronud armored cars.

While "great deal faster" is fuzzy language open to interpretation, IMO I don't consider 10 Gbps TBolt to be a "great deal faster" than 6 Gbps SATA. TBolt can't handle two SATA connections at full bandwidth - that's not a "great deal faster" in my opinion.
When it was called "Light Peak", the technology had a lot of promise. Now that it's been downgraded to daisy-chained copper - it's only a little bit better than USB 3.0. Except that we can buy USB 3.0 devices, it's still "in the future" for TBolt devices.
You always seem to forget that Tbolt is a dual bidirectional 10Gb/s channel technology, so in fact it can handle 4 SATA connections, 2 upstream and 2 downstream. With room to spare. On a single port.
But besides the raw speed of TBolt, it's the variety of devices that will be available: high-end storage, audio and video, docking equipment, etc., and the fact that PCIe-class devices will finally be available for computers without PCIe slots. It's perfectly sound for a company like Apple with 90% of their computers without PCIe slots, to pioneer that kind of technology.
Copper or optical wouldn't have change a thing except the max. length of the connection (up to 100m instead of 3m). And FWIW, the only devices you can buy today in USB3 are marginally faster (than FW800) single storage units, and there are already single solid-state drives that are faster than USB3 (http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-vertex-3-sata-iii-2-5-ssd.html). A couple of video devices that are already obsolete due to some TBolt announcements, and not a single audio interface. No need to trash TBolt because it can't handle $50,000+ devices (RAID Arrays of SSD on 16x PCIe cards) that only a handful of people worldwide will ever buy. As for the "low-end" ioDrive duo, prices range from $9,000 to $12,000 (320/640GB).
Somehow I'm glad Tbolt is not fast enough to handle those devices, I also need a new car.

There is a phone for everyone, apple may not make it. That does not mean this is the end for you. If you can't wait find another means. Simple fix!

Read the 190 page structure report from the department of defense for yourself. My source was just a simple exert of the baseline report. Face the reality that we are over extended in many ways... and I am really glad your not handling my portfolio :P

does this still have lag/freezing issues?
I know when lion beta was first released it would lag and freeze a lot! also it was very unstable, 80% of the apps would crash constantly.
Oh really?
Where did you attain this copy of LION... off a Pirate Bay?
No wonder it's a POS!

I'm still wondering about battery life.
And they list the wired as Windows compatible, but not the new bluetooth version. Any reason it wouldn't work on Windows?

I don't play games, and even I don't want integrated graphics. You can say that an MBA isn't really purpose-built for games (obviously), but I don't know how some people can fervently defend a graphics downgrade.
I owned a rev B white MacBook, and it had some sort of crappy integrated graphics (the first type Apple used). It could easily play videos.......until HD movies and larger format videos became more common. After a year, it couldn't keep up with Youtube. I don't know what changed, but the fans ran like crazy, especially when watching movie trailers at any size above "SMALL". I realize that laptops are never going to be able to keep up with the future, but with the Intel IG being rumoured, you'd be at the cusp of being obsolete. It's already at the bottom-rung of the ladder, so there's no leeway when graphics demands move half a step forward.

Actually that is stupid. Investment Banks and Hedge Funds are the largest shareholders of Apple. They use the MTM (Mark to Market) price to determine their profit and loss portfolio of what their shares are worth. They are going to so pissed off with Apples performance they will at the shareholder meeting be asking for some ones head. So yes, technically you don't lose money until you sell, but that is a very very very, ad-infinitum, very naive view.

I wonder how many other users think this solely because Apple doesn't like them.

Since he's dead doesn't this technically mean that the "War on Terror" is technically over?
No, now that we are bold about our "success" it's time to take out the terrorist in Iran.

You can add on a 115GB SSD from OWC. FAST turnaround.

Too expensive, plus I'd rather do it myself
