I can't wait for this. Call me lazy, but I'm two small updates behind because I can't be bothered to sync my iPhone for fixes that don't affect me.

there was a thing last week where tweetdeck's new app was pulled because it crashed constantly. most of the problems with Windows over the last 20 years have been third party apps and drivers and not the OS itself, yet MS got the blame. Apple learned a lesson from that. it took MS years to change the architecture to limit bad code from developers
By offering applications both ways you have an advantage. Apps that want to be listed on the App store need to pass all the usual tests and review process.

I dislike Rand's implication that the libyans fighting could be "terrorists". It's unesscessary given the situation they are in. But I see no reason why the US gov should be in involved. There are always people that could be saved from death whether it's by massacre or disease or whatever it doesn't mean that it falls on the us tax payers to fix it. People who want the US to become entrenched in another war this should pick up a gun and go fight it themselves. It's only a no fly zone now but time will tell.....

There is a common issue where the OSX patches don't work right, and people's answer is always to go get the Combo Upgrade and use that instead. Many people just start at the Combo these days. I'm always willing to cope with a larger download if it makes things easier later. Even when I was on 1.5Mbps connection, I'd just let the download run while I sleep.
Personally, I'm fine with plugging my phone into my dock. (which is also a USB hub, for those worried about # of ports) It's almost as easy as setting it on a table, so I don't really care about wifi updates. I'd rather charge while downloading large files instead of burning battery.
It's fine for those that can't be bothered with a wired setup, or have only a laptop, I guess.

That sounds like it makes sense, but does ATT have LTE coverage? or will they by October?
AT&T is working on 4G... like them all. None of them have wide spread 4g yet. But it's coming. In my area it will be probably 2 years, but it's coming. This is why I don't think 4G is such a big deal right now. Besides... I use the 3G only when on the road and most of the time the speed is fine for email and casual browsing. 4G would be really nice... but it's not the "big thing" for me. And I don't think it's the "big thing" for most people as much as they would like to think so. I know I'm on WiFi most of the time anyway.

So buy the full version outright and get data plans with no caps. That's the beauty of a free market - you get to decide what you want and if the cost is worth it.

It sucks, but it is the sad reality of the online world these days. The Halo community, in my opinion, is quite good and friendly, but it doesn't take but a very small group of individuals to ruin it. My only suggestion is to play with as many friends or nice players that you know. I have a handful of real-life friends who play Halo, but I also won't hesitate to add someone who I enjoyed playing with.
I used to play a TON of Rocket Race in Halo 3. It was a crazy fun gametype, but it was also very easy to ruin for everyone, if you were that kind of person. So, I just started adding people to my friends list every chance I got when I had fun playing with people. Pretty soon, I had tons of people online who I could play with. I tried Rapidweaver, but it wasn't for me the template system seemed to get in the way when I tried it. I do a lot of CSS coding and work a lot with Wordpress. I can used other programs to write code for Wordpress, Espresso works well and I use CSSEdit for working exclusively with CSS, but there are times I want a good WYSIWYG editor for laying out pages quickly and not have to switch between a preview and code view. So far KomPozer is the one that is the closest, but it is buggy and unfinished, I always find myself going back to Dreamweaver and wishing for something else.

If you are seasoned and comfortable to work in CSS, RW is probably not for you either.
The template part is what I actually love. They are malleable, and you can make your own. Coming from a magazine design background it just seemed very analogous to how I always worked and thought in print work...

No clue. I bet it would run but not all that well. I hope these comments on the rest of the Studio will calm some of the "sky is falling" pessimists. I'm not saying that FCPX is a home run yet but I'm more than happy to leave my torch and pitchfork in the shed based on what's been demoed so far.

Blow through your data cap with 650MB downloads for every point update? Not happening until Apple can deliver smaller downloads for updates.
No, it would have to not count against your cap. If it did count 1 update would put people over who are on the 200 MB AT&T data plan.

No way apple knew or went along with those "add-on" requirements to buy at Radio Shack. This is Radio Shack trying to take advantage of supply and demand in light of the fixed price by Apple. Demand is off the chart, supply was supposedly in single digits per store, so they knew that if you wouldn't buy AppleCare and a case in order to get the iPad, someone else would.
I am sure Apple is not happy, and as a consumer I wouldn't be, either. It is good short-term business sense (maximizing today's sales), but a terrible move long run as the reputation will take a big hit with customers and suppliers. A classic case of not looking past the end of your nose.

It would be cool if you could buy comics this way as well. Maybe when you buy a physical comic, it could give you a code to enter at the iTMS (iTunes Media Store) to download a CBR version of it.
Right now, you can download all sorts of comics on BitTorrent as CBR or PDF format, and Marvel (www.marvel.com) has a pretty cool online (Flash-based, I think) comic reader from their website.
I'd love to be able to pony up some amount of money and have, say, the entire run of X-Men at my disposal for reading. And controlling the DRM on a comic would be easier than that of music, or even text.

This is almost the exact post I wrote yesterday on the last 4.3 update thread. It is driving ne nuts. And I'm sure I was able to distinguish between texts and emails before. I'm filing it under bug too.

In case you are curious, I just had my wife text me (I have 3G3 running iOS 4.3) and I set my phone to vibrate. When she texted, it only vibrated once. So I'm guessing there is a setting that isn't working for you. Since you are saying that you know several people this is happening to, then I doubt it would be a file corruption issue.
