An "Image Sensor" is not a camera. The sensor is part of a camera. In addition to a sensor one needs to add at least a lens, some buffer memory and a controller. Sony makes image sensors for many, other camera makers.
8MP is way to many pixels for a cell phone camera. The only reason to have so many is for marketing purposes because consumers seem to think (wrongly) that more is better. What really limits sharpness of a cell phone camera is the physical size of the lens. If the lens projects a blurred image onto the focal plane the best sensors will simply make a very good recording of the blurred image.

and waste data? i dont know...how useful is this...really?
how hard is it to update via itunes? i just think we as a society are trying to come up with "innovative" and convenient things that are rather pointless.
others may find it useful, but why would one need to update on the go?

Figure a new umpc, maybe a tablet, and make it always connected via some new 3/4G network. They'll make a tiny device that people will always carry.
This is my guess too. Very small notebook with built in 3G from AT&T. Data plan available for $20 a month or included with your iphone cell plan.
I seem to remember something coming up a few weeks ago where AT&T was thinking about offering their data plan as a standalone option and this would certainly fit.

I'm still under NDA, so I can't tell you as much as I would like about what was NOT talked about at the SuperMeet, but I will quote one Apple rep that I spoke with after the event: "This is only the first look, wait until we can share the full announcement."
I heard what the execs were saying after the event. There is much more to come. And I can't wait!
P.S. Don't let the negative rumors get you too worried, yet. Those that know, can't say. Those that don't know, are just guessing and enjoy making you nervous. We will all know more soon. Its human nature. you get all kinds no matter what business your in :)

I don't know about a 3D display but Apple was trying to get the third gen iPad out around the same time as the next iPhone, so Septemberish.

I think I would want a retina display first. I'd rather wait for battery technology to improve before having an iPad with a shorter battery than my ipad 2.

Here's my guess as to how it will work based on how simple Apple likes to make things for the end user:

I wonder if that aluminium beveled logo has something to do with the design of the long awaited new MacBook Pros?...
...it's already featuring on the iPhone...

Like a lot of people, my serial (3K437...) falls in the stated range for 12" PBs, but the Apple site says it's not valid/doesn't qualify. It was doing that this morning when the story very first broke (long before the site went down or even got slow), and it's still doing it now. The battery has been going fine for almost 2 years, and I don't expect to explode tomorrow, but it would be nice to get a new one.

Hi.
I ordered an iMac Core Duo 20" more than two weeks ago in Spain and have received two emails from the Apple Store delaying its shippment due to "unexpected number of orders and availability of that product" which is kind of suspicious. Finally, it was shipped on Aug. 31 but the delivery date was and still is Sep. 12! ... I think I just might get one of the upgraded iMacs because Apple never took almost to weeks to deliver any product to me.
When I get the computer I will post about whatever it is inside!

You maybe didn't read my post properly. I said I spotted that 6.0.5 could do this but I still don't know how. Whenever I select a different set of speakers it swaps to the new set. Do you need to press a modifier key or something? (Can't test just now because one of my AEs is elsewhere).
The v7 interface chugs a bit on my 1.25 GHz PBG4. I think the interface has too many dark shades. What's with the black highlight in the sidebar?
Oh, sorry, I must have read it wrong. I'm not at home right now either but I know I can do it on my setup at home. It's just always worked but I can't recall exaclty what the menu looks like right now. I think there is a "multiple speakers" option in the drop down box for selecting where to stream. If you select that it will bring up a box with check boxes next to each set of spearks available and if you select them all it plays to them all. I'll double check when I get home.

The following is just me personal guesses as too updates to Apples hardware over the next 6 months or so, with a few coming on the 12th and most by the end of the year.
MacBook Pros updated to Core 2 Duos is a no brainer, though I'm not sure if they'd launch it at such and event, but still possible since it is a bit more than speed bump, and you know Steve would want to brag about his new 64-bit PowerBooks.
Also, the iMacs seem to be in the same boat processor wise, though which Core 2 Duo isn't quite as obvious of a choice. If they could fit a G5 in the form factor, it seems reasonable that they could get Conroe in there too, but Merom would let it run cooler. Considering the large gap between the Mac mini and Mac Pro, a 23" iMac would just make sense, unless the much hoped for Conroe based mid tower was released, though that a lot less likely than a 23" iMac, or even a 30" iMac, so don't hold your breath.
MacBooks, don't hold your breath, possibly price drops to get it to $999 again since Yonah prices have come down since launch, but don't expect a Core 2 Duo any time soon. The MacBook is already eating the MacBook Pro's launch due to the similar specs, so the Core 2 is likely to be the MacBook Pro advantage.
Like the MacBook, the Mac mini could see drops back down to G4 levels, and I would discount the Core Duos across the line, but again, don't look for the Core 2 Duo anytime soon.
As for iPods, I would expect the touch screen Video iPod to come out in time for the holiday season, though maybe not on the 12th. The reason being to compete with the Zune and the fact that there finally seems to be a deal about a movie store. As for the regular iPod, probably 40GB and 80GB versions at the current prices, with a slim chance at a 60GB model at $349. As for the nano, probably doubling of storage on all models(2GB, 4GB, 8GB) at the same price points. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 1GB nano at around $129 either. As for the shuffle, if it survives, 512MB at $49 and 1GB at around $79 or so.

Did anyone love this quote?
Jobs was equally unconcerned about the prospect of the iPod losing its cool factor as it becomes increasingly ubiquitous.
"That's like saying you don't want to kiss your lover's lips because everyone has lips. It doesn't make any sense," said Jobs.

What these naysayers are NOT saying is what pro features are missing. Until they list something wrong with it, they are just being irrational. My experience is, lots of guys don't like their pro apps getting too easy to use, because they want their skills to be considered special. They hate it when, "Anyone can do it".
Yes i imagine this is partly true, because creative/talented upstarts who do not have years of complex/technical experience, on a much smaller budget can preform at a much closer level to those with many more years of experience.
I say closer level because as mentioned earlier there is much more that goes into professional editing than software know how. With that said, the upstarts present real competition to the entrenched because they can - on a smaller budget - more easily produce comparable work - which might have the effect of lowering the amount entrenched professionals can charge for their work.

I believe Apple did go with a larger sensor in the iPhone 4.
They kept the same pixel size as from before, but made the sensor larger to increase the number of pixels. It's also uses backlit illumination, per Steve Jobs.
