I've had them all since Gen one excpet for the Video. Lost my Nano and gave other away. Now just have a Gen 3. Need a new one here soon when they make a car adaptor for the optical bus equipped BMWs. Gen 3 will go there and the new one will be for home, work and travel.
Is the smart play to wait a month or two?
eh..I heard the next generation of ipods will be released next year. Probably in November, just before Christmas. I didn't know they were going to release the video ipod or else I would've waited two months before getting my ipod photo!

I'll check out the lines around 4. I'm not waiting for more than an hour. If I can't get one today I'll be putting off my purchase for awhile.

i wonder how you click, or make a selection. it would be pointless if you could scroll wothout touching the screen, but had to touch it in order to click on the scroll wheel.
Yeah, that is a good question. It would seem to be a very touchy thing to differentiate scrolling from clicking the buttons. Maybe they'll move back to the 3G interface with the separate buttons. It seems that it might feel a bit awkward to me to not receive any tactile feed back.
I'm excited to see what Apple comes up with.

Add a third option, 24" with a 16:10 ratio and a matte option. Easier on the eyes and more vertical space. The 27" was murder on my eyes and I had to sell mine.

I like your idea and I think it would work in many situations if there is indeed going to be a "transition phase" toward a new type of connection format. However, I'll stick by my prediction as it offers the maximum benefit for Apple and its third party partners while keeping the whole user interaction simpler and more elegant. The Nike situation is different in the respect that it is really the only way to make a product like that workcan't have a bunch of wires getting in the way of running. I know the iPod Hi-Fi probably isn't selling well enough for Apple to worry that a new connection format would hurt their own profit margin much, but there are a LOT of third party partners out there that have only recently given it their best because Apple has probably assured them that the dock connector will be around for quite some time, so third party R&D won't be a black hole or recurring expense in that area. It is what has helped the accessory market evolve to the point it has, which has benefitted Apple immensly-don't think Apple doesn't realize that fact! It is also what is missing from the also-ran MP3 manufacturers: not enough consistency to make it worth their investment to produce for those products.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Of course, it COULD have both....
how about
a 30 $ optional wireless receiver that acts as a female dock connector to plug into the existing iPod docks?

What have they lost?
The ITC staff just ruled against them, they lost the famous case against MS, they ended up paying Apple Corps, etc.
What have they actually WON?

Ah, I completely forgot about PCI-Express based SSDs. I kept thinking about 6Gbps SATA SSDs.
Also, "SSD drive" is redundant :).
TB is basically PCIe + Display Port video.
Part of the discussion on expansion cards for Mac Pros was that, according to Intel, TB must have direct access to the PCIe lanes and the graphics processor. In theory, someone could come up with a PCIe graphics processor board with a TB controller, ports & etc, but the question will be whether there is a sufficiently large market for the device.
Whether a RAID array saturates TB or not, the bottom line is that TB is a great deal faster than even an eSATA connection. When will TB 2.0 come out? Who knows? Let's see how version 1.0 is adopted.
Cheers

Nope, the thing you haven't understood is that I thought it was a Clever idea, as right after, the attackers left. Nothing "crappy" about acknowledging something which saved her from further sufferance. Of course, you interpreted my post as being insincere and cold, but it was merely an observation and never did I have the intention to be hurtful.
No, but he assumed your intention was hurtful

The mighty mouse is a great mouse. The only thing I dislike about it is the way the scroll wheel sticks. My wife doesn't like the squeeze buttons on the side, but I think they work great. I guess it's all a matter of preference. If they fix the scrolling wheel problem on the new one's I would definitely buy one. I've found though that cleaning the scroll wheel with rubbing alchohol several times in a row will take care of the sticking problem.
BEWARE: I use to do this too, and my "press-the-scroll-ball-and-click-the-mouse" 3rd button ceased to work right after one of those cleaning sessions. I don't know if the two events were related, but I tend to believe they were  . I might have used too much alcohol that time, though... :o [*rubbing* alcohol, don't get me wrong :p ]

The CPU would be considerably faster, but the graphics ughh lol. The only way I can see myself grabbing a new one this year is if it comes with some type of integrated 3G plan similar to the iPad, then I'd consider downgrading the GPU.
Idk how the CPU would be considerably faster than a 2.13 GHz core2duo.
The only bright side to this upgrade is the fact that battery might last extra :30 -1:00 hour.
Does this mean we might see thunderbolt in the new MBA? (which i dont even care)
If the CPU processing is really that faster than the 2.13 I would like to know since I ordered an MBA yesterday :P

I'm not sure on the credibility of OP's image. Apple has been all about making products thin and less bulky, but in reality, there is such thing as "too thin"
I own a 4th Gen iPod touch and it has a case with a rubber gasket surrounding the surface. This exact case, in fact: http://bit.ly/eqT0XA
I tried using it w/o the case once and I thought I was going to drop it most of the time, mainly because there isn't a lot of room to hold on. With the rubber around the case, it allows for more grip, while adding thickness to the device.
On the subject of the home button, the home button on my iPod touch sometimes does not respond. I think the home button on the new iPhone should be touch sensitive, but keep the design per OP's image.
I know it may seem like I am comparing apples and oranges, but It's the truth. Sometimes you need thickness on a device so you can hold it.

At this point, waiting another 3 - 5 months for an iPhone 5 would be more prudent than being locked into something so soon before a new device comes out.BL.
What makes you think the iphone 5 will be released in 3-5 months. rumors suggest it could be realeased in Q1 which could mean late OCT or early Nov time frame
I would suggest if you want it get it but if you can hold on then hold on

Picked a couple of these up a few days ago. Definitely not for picky writers. I still prefer a traditional .5mm mechanical pencil, but I love how smoothly these write.
