Tapas & Martinis

There's a cute little tapas place is town called Stella Blu with a swanky yet relaxing atmosphere and superbly delicious dishes. Last night my bestie and I decided to head to this little spot and catch up over dinner. The food and drinks were amazing as usual, our server was a delight and catching up with my girl was even better!

We started off with some beverages,

a glass of red wine for me and a berry martini for her.

They were also doing a complimentary wine tasting so we got to try a nice Pinot Gris as well.

we dined on Shrimp Croquetas, Szechuan Green Beans and Chicken Flatbread Pizza

I decided to also try the Teal Martini since $4 of the purchase would go to Ovarian Cancer research,

it was delicious and charitable ;)

We finished up the evening with the Churro Stix, a favorite of ours with chocolate dipping sauce.

They were the perfect ending to a fab evening.

Dinner Parties & Goodbyes

We threw a little dinner party this week in honor of my bestie Amber who is moving to beautiful San Francisco. It was a nice change of pace to see our friends  on a weeknight, and cook for them too!

I made not one, but two different kinds of Mac 'N Cheese! My  famous Taco Mac 'n Cheese (recipe here) and a classic Baked Mac 'n Cheese (recipe here). My girly made bomb-pop martinis and we had some delish cupcakes too.

So with one bestie out in San Diego and one off to San Fran I have two reasons to plan a trip out west!

Best Friends and Brewery Tours

Sheesh, we have been having the busiest August ever!

Social commitments and adjusting to my new work schedule are  the main reasons why this Blog has been so neglected over the last week or so. Getting home an hour later than I'm used to makes for a tired and lazy Katy.

Well anyway, I promise I am well on my way to getting back some form of normalcy. I have some awesome recipes lined up for this week and a brain full of fashion.

But what have I been up to?! Since getting back from Chicago it has been one social affair after another. Going away parties galore, brewery tours, dinners, drinks, an almost Wedding...

One of my bestest gal pals, Amber, is making the move to San Francisco next week which meant not one, but two going away parties for the lovely lady this past weekend the second of which was a brewery tour in Portsmouth, NH.

One of the Fiance's close friends is being deployed to Afghanistan so of course there was a party to see him off, wish him well, celebrate his birthday and get him very drunk.

Then the was the wedding that wasn't. Straight out of a crazy rom-com there were last minute disagreements over a pre-nup which resulted in a walk down the aisle but no vows, rings or marriage followed by a reception. At least the venue was totally gorg.

So am I staying in this weekend to relax and recoup? No! I will be making a trip down to the great state of New Jersey for my Brother's engagement party.

And after that, can a girl get some rest please?

With A Drink In My Hand and A Smile On My Face

I have amazing friends and family, I really do.
