Spring Worthy Skirts

For the East Coast spring means the return of open toe shoes, sandals, dresses & skirts. Slowly but surely you'll see more and more spring worthy fashions around town while our legs & toes make their triumphant return to the sunlight.

Some of the trendiest spring styles are skirts with pops of color or flowy fabric, paired with neutrals or colorful cardis there is no shortage of options and it's one springtime fashion fix that I cannot get enough of.

Bold Colors...

This colorblocked version by Elie Tahari would be great paired with neutrals or prints while the sunny, yellow Kate Spade skirt will add a fabulous pop of color to any look.

Pretty Pleats....

Pleats are making a comeback and I'm loving the pleated skirts I've spotted. The blue skirt from Modcloth adds color & texture while the clean, white version from French Connection is perfectly pretty.

My First Holiday DIY Inspired by Love, Maegan

Inspired by this post featuring a Word Pop Art DIY from ...Love, Maegan I decided to try making my own holiday DIY. While Maegan used small canvases for hers, I decided to use wine bottles.

I must say, I am thrilled with out it came out!

To start off we purchased three bottles of wine. It doesn't matter what kind, we just wanted three clear glass wine bottles. We proceeded to drink all three bottles (not at once) and then soaked them in warm, soapy water to remove the labels. Once the labels were off, the bottles sat to dry for about a day.

Then the fun part! Using Microsoft Word I printed out my letters, nice bold ones and cut them out. Using double sided tape the letters were affixed to the bottles and then let the spray painting begin!

This was such an easy and fun project. I'm so glad I saw Maegan's post. I am toying with the idea of filling the bottles or topping them with something festive.

Last Friday night Boston Bloggers invaded Boylston Street's lively Cactus Club for some margaritas and mingling. It's always fun to meet new people and catch up with some favorites!

US Weekly Hot Hollywood Boston

Last night I was lucky enough to attend this swanky event at Splash Ultra Lounge in Boston. With Kinsey Michaels as my date we donned our stilettos and headed downtown. We arrived to a photo-op and feeling red carpet ready we struck a pose!

We hit up the gorgeous blue lit bar to sip on some US Weekly inspired cocktails like the Hot Hollywood and Red Carpet Cocktail. The event was hosted by Bud Select 55, Vitamin Water and Smart Water which they were also handing out throughout the evening.

Splash Lounge has a gorgeous rooftop with cabanas and couches where we mingled with fellow bloggers Jaime and Neira and munched on h'ors d'oeuvres like bacon wrapped scallops, oysters and chicken "on a stick".

At the end of the evening they handed out fabulous swag bags full of chocolate, Vitamin & Smart Waters along with a current copy of US Weekly and other fun goodies. The score of the night though? I won this gorgeous yellow leather Juicy Couture bag and an Adidas watch! How lucky am I?!!

The whole evening was fantastic and the weather was perfect for hanging out in the warm night air. Nothing beats free drinks and swag, right?!

Things I Don't Normally Do

Growing up I was a very shy kid.

So shy that I wouldn't let anyone take my picture (without a fight),

wouldn't hug anyone

and was generally very very quiet.

This serious fear of social interaction stayed with me for a long time

it only got worse when my Family packed up and moved from Ontario, Canada to Setauket, NY in 1996.

I had a hard time making friends and it took awhile for me be comfortable in my own skin.

These days I am much more social than before!

I'm actually quite fun ifIdosaysomyself.

But it can take a while for me to open up to people, usually I stand quietly by and observe the goings on before I decide to jump in a open my big trap. I'm not a go out of my way to make friends type of girl.

BUT tonight I am leaving my comfort zone and going to Boston for

Boozy Boston Bloggers!

Me and my girl Kinsey will be heading down together to meet up with some fun & fabulous Bloggers like,

And Ryan (Boyfriend) booked a weekend getaway for us up in Lincoln, NH. Lincoln is home to Loon Mountain ski resort and the Kangamangus Highway which is the most popular road for foliage viewing in NH. Since it is near a large ski resort Lincoln is a super adorable little ski town with lots of restaurants and local shops, outlet shopping, snow mobilibing and more. He booked a room with a private balcony and our hotel has a lovely indoor pool. So excited!

Thank You, Thank You Very Much

I'm not feeling well today so I had to skip out on a real post but I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who stops by my blog and all my followers. I truly appreciate every single one of you. My blog is still a baby and I'm learning along the way but it means a lot to me that you all take the time to stop by and say hello and that you seem to like what I'm doing so far. I know that everyone started out the same way so it means a lot to be a part of this community and feel the love. I have discovered so many lovely blogs and ladies and I hope to be sticking with this for a loooong time.
