When we moved into our place in August of 2009 we decided to paint an accent wall in our living room.
A big, red accent wall.
And then we didn't really know what to do with it.
We spent a lot of time looking for a piece or artwork but didn't want something that was mass produced for Pier 1 or places like that.
We finally decided on floating shelves. We took a trip to Lowe's and purchased three black shelves then got to work! We also decided to reconfigure our living room at the same time.

Changing the layout really opened up our space.
We decorated our new shelves with an ecelectic assortment of candles, flowers, travel souvenirs, a newly painted gold mirror and my black + white photography.
We have plans to add a comfy but stylish reclining chair in the near future.
