Day 5: St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
Photo Set 1: We started our day by walking around the port and doing a little souvenir shopping for friends an family. With a lot of time before our schedule Excursion we decided to take a Gondola up to Paradise Point. Paradise Point is a location far up on the mountain that overlooks the port of St. Thomas. We took in breathtaking views, a tropical bird show where we saw the birds ride bicycles, roller skate and talk, and tried a local drink called the Bushwacker before heading back to catch out tour.
Photo Set 2: We had a quick lunch and met our tour around 1pm. It was called the Castaway Girl Barefoot Catamaran Sail & Snorkel. It was definitely barefoot as we were instructed to remove our shoes before even getting on board. The boat's crew were all young guys who could only be described as "dudes" but they were hilarious and definitely one of the best parts of the tour. We headed out to open sea to a snorkel location called Ship Wreck Cove (I might have made that up...), we had decided to sit out front and as soon as we hit open water the ship was going up and down like crazy, the waves we spraying water everywhere and I almost fell overboard. Luckily I was able to save myself and my Versace sunglasses (main concern) but lost a flipper. We went inside. We snorkeled for about an hour seeing a starfish, sea urchin, fire coral and ship wreck! On the way back to mainlaind they serve complimentary, unlimited rum punch. By the time we got back we were wasted. We ran into one of our friends and she laughed at our hilarious condition.
Photo Set 3: We headed back to the ship but not before catching a local Highschool's Steel Drum Band. To end the evening we tried to drink of the day which was served in a pineapple, watched the sunset and grabbed dinner at the Buffet on board our ship. Late night we caught a Burlesque Show in the Bliss Ultra Lounge. When we returned to our room, the Housekeeper had left us a monkey.
Day 6: Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Photo Set 1: As soon as we were off the ship we boarded a boat headed to Jost Van Dyke another British Virgin Island. Our destination was White Beach & the Soggy Dollar Bar. I can only describe it as paradise, it was absolutely beautiful. We had to swim from the boat to the beach due to the shallow water but that only made it feel more secluded. We spend the entire day on the beach sunbathing, swimming and just having a great time. The Soggy Dollar bar is pretty famous and we enjoyed a complimentary signature beverage, the Painkiller and tried their onion rings. These photos could be postcards haha.
Photo Set 2: Sadly we couldn't stay on Jost Van Dyke forever and we headed back to our Ship in the afternoon after about 5 hours on the beach. That evening was the ships 'famous' White Party so we all donned our whitest clothes before heading to dinner at La Cuchina, the ship's Italian establishment. After dinner we headed to the Spinnaker Lounge for the White Party and danced the night away while sipping cocktails from light up glasses. After the White Party died down we headed to Bliss to unwind before hitting the hay.
Days 7 & 8 coming soon!
